Phsychology of music

Music plays an important role in our life. It can help us to relax, concentrate, or to take exercises. But why we might love listening to our favourite tunes and find them enjoyable? What is it exactly that makes us respond to music in a particular way?
There is more why we like music than just a catchy beat or an easy tune. Dozens of receptors in our brain respond to different aspects like tone rhythm and lyrics determining qualities we personally like or dislike. Researchers found that dopamine releses during moments of enjoyment while listeng to music. That's what gives us the chills. The same chemical reaction as when we fall in love. Basically our brain loves listening to music. Also music involves more parts of the brain than any other function that people perform.
Music as well is known to improve language skills and creativity. Music can decrease anxiety, increase optimism and decrease pain. Also students taking courses in music performance show higher results in their tests and are more successeful in their education.
